Assoluta protagonista è stata Taylor Swift che ha conquistato ben sette statuette come Artist of the Year, Best Pop, Video of the Year, Song of Summer, Best Collaboration, Best Direction e Best Editing per la canzone Fortnight in collaborazione con Post Malone, diventando l’artista più premiata di sempre nella storia dell’evento.
Katy Perry ha ricevuto il Video Vanguard Award per il contributo artistico nel mondo della musica e il premio per la Most Iconic Performance per l’esibizione di Roar nel 2013.
La categoria Song of the Year è stata vinta da Sabrina Carpenter con Espresso mentre Benson Boone è la Best Alternative con la hit Beautiful Things. Lenny Kravitz invece ha trionfato nella categoria Best Rock grazie al brano Human.
Anitta ha conquistato il premio nella categoria Best Latin, Tyla ha trionfato come Best Afrobeats con la canzone Water, Chappell Roan è la Best New Artist, Lisa con “Rockstar” ha trionfato nella categoria Best K-Pop, mentre Megan Thee Stallion ha ottenuto il Best Trending Video per Mamushi con Yuki Chiba e Best Art Direction per BOA.
