A Madrid si sono tenuti i Laureus World Sports Awards 2026 condotti da Novak Djokovic e Eileen Gu.
Carlos Alcaraz ha vinto il premio come “Sportivo dell’anno” che ha chiuso il 2025 al numero 1 al mondo nel circuito Atp, mentre in ambito femminile ha trionfato Aryna Sabalenka.
Il Paris Saint-Germain si è aggiudicato il premio Laureus World Team of the Year. Tra i vincitori anche Lando Norris, pilota di Formula 1, il campione del Masters 2025 Rory McIlroy, Chloe Kim, la regina dello snowboard, Gabriel Araújo, tre volte campione del mondo di nuoto paralimpico, Nadia Comăneci, a 50 anni dal 10 perfetto che ha fatto la storia dello sport, Lamine Yamal, stella mondiale del calcio, e l’ex calciatore Toni Kroos.
Tra i candidati ai Laureus anche Jannik Sinner nella categoria Laureus World Sportsman of the Year 2026.
